Midkota Elementary would like to announce our November Student of the Month: Camden Ronningen! During the month of November, we were on the look out for students who displayed gratitude. Showing gratitude is a trait that Camden exemplifies. Congratulations Camden! We are proud of you. :)

The Lake Region Girls Basketball Tournament starts this Thursday, December 4 in Devils Lake. Our Lady Titans will play the second game of the day against the Devils Lake JV. The boys varsity and JV basketball teams will be going to Steele on Saturday for scrimmage play. They will play the 3rd and 5th sessions of the day. KC Winterfest is also happening throughout the school and community (craft fair, vendors, Santa Claus, horse rides, etc.) that is open to everyone to attend.
Boys Basketball will be having their Player/Parent meeting tomorrow at 5:45pm in the GCC main gym. This meeting is for all players and their parents grades 7-12.
The GBB team will play in Leeds tonight against Benson County. Tip off for JV will be at 5:30pm with the Varsity to follow. Bus leaves MHS at 3:30pm and GCC at 3:00pm. Midkota Public School and buses will be 1 hour late this morning, Wednesday, November 26th. At this time a portion of our district is in a "No Travel Advised" alert according to the ND DOT. A 1 hour late start will allow everyone to travel in daylight and allow snow plows a chance to work on roads. Breakfast will not be served today. Please travel safely and be sure to have students travel with winter gear.
On Monday, November 24th a small group of Midkota musicians traveled to VCSU to participate in the 44th annual Barnes County Music Festival. The festival invites performers from now 10 area schools to perform band and choir selections on a large, combined concert. Please check out the video. Oh! And parents-this event is open to all of our music students so please join me in encouraging them to attend and perform next year and beyond!
