Get those pennies ready Midkota Elementary! The Penny Wars are on! Beginning on Monday, April 8th each classroom will battle it out to be the grade with the most pennies (positive points). Students are of course allowed to sabotage other classes by adding silver coins or dollars to cancel out positive penny balances. All proceeds will go towards the Treyvon Watkins Benefit Fund. So check your couch cushions and peek under your floor mats Midkota! ;) This is WAR (of the penny variety), and it only lasts until April 30th.

In case you didn't get a chance to visit us during the month of March, please check out the amazing creativity of our teachers as they transformed our school into an epic road trip across our nation. I am continually blown away by all of the talent we have in this building. (Please note that the 4th grade door is missing because Mrs. Dockter wasn't quick enough to catch it before the redecorating began. Sorry!)

I am pleased and excited to report that Midkota Elementary School completed Reading Month with 7,878,129 words read! To cap off our month of virtual travels across the United States as we "Read Across America," we gathered in the gym for a cross country movie and some delicious snacks from the Elementary PTA. (Thank you Marshele, Kelsey, and Christy! Your Puppy Chow was a hit!) Each class also recognized their top readers. Congratulations Mustangs! Thank you everyone for another stellar reading month! We can't wait until next year!
